Dear friends of Bodhi Berlin,
In the last newsletter we mistakenly noted the date for Mettā's guest teaching as April 21st. The correct date is April 14th and is corrected below along with more information about the plan for the evening.
The next four Tuesday night meditation sessions are:
Our Tuesday drop-in, peer-led gatherings include meditation, listening to a recording or reading, discussion, and sometimes some chanting. Experience the benefits of meditating together in a warm and accepting setting—we encourage people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and experience levels to attend.
The Buddhist scriptures illustrate the quest for liberation in various ways, each of which sheds a different light on the nature of the practice.
One of the groups of factors particularly emphasized by the Buddha are the five spiritual faculties (the five Indriya):
These faculties are the equipment or provisions necessary for the journey. They work together, supporting and complementing one another, to help us progress along the path.
Faculty means that they possess the quality of walking the path in the right way. Through them, one progresses along the path; they give strength. The Buddha speaks of five faculties, or human potentials, through which a person can move from ignorance to right understanding.
It is a path of profound understanding of our life in all its aspects. Through correct practice, we understand not only our individual life, but existence in general.
During our evening together, we will look deeper into how these five Indriya work together. How they complement each other and support us in our endeavours on our way
The next Bodhi Berlin day-long silent meditation retreat is tentatively planned to take place Sunday, 26th April 2026, 10:00–17:00 at Hessische Str. 12, 10115 Berlin. We are aware that we're a bit late giving notice this time, so we may reschedule if interest is low.
The retreat space is accessible via stairs and has both cushions and chairs as seating options.
We have space for 12 retreatants total. If you would like to attend, please do the following:
When we have received your e-mail and your deposit, we will add you to the list of participants. If the 12 spots are already filled, you will be added to the waiting list and if a space does not free up, we will refund your deposit.
If you have registered and for some reason cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list. Those who notify us at least forty-eight hours before the retreat will be able to receive a refund of your deposit.
